“Thanks to a series of workshops organized by the Student Health and Wellness Centre, I was able to get out of my shell, discuss a variety of topics with my peers, and make meaningful friendships, which made it easier for me to fit in and encouraged mutual support.
Once enrolled in the Economy and Social Innovation program [...], I landed in Canada at the beginning of August, the country of dreams. […]
Lost in the midst of so many people, I felt out of place, lonely, shy, and withdrawn. [...] At the beginning of my classes, everything was a blur, an unknown world opened up to me. [...] A series of activities organized by the Student Wellness Centre at the Université de l’Ontario français came to the rescue.
Five consecutive workshops every Thursday were enough to break the ice, get out of my shell and discover my new world. From painting and colouring, to discussions on mental health and raising awareness of migration issues (and challenges), and above all knowing how to get help and form social relationships, these workshops were an opportunity to exchange ideas on a variety of subjects. They enabled me to create connections with my colleagues, who have now become friends. It was a wonderful experience that made it easier for me to integrate and helped others.
These moments were an opportunity to socialize with the faculty, the Wellness Centre managers, the support team, and my colleagues from different programs. The highlight was the bowling outing, a simply incredible experience. I highly recommend attending these workshops.”

“I chose UOF because of the future prospects it offers through its programs: we deal with today’s problems by proposing solutions that can be applied now for a better future.
My first year at UOF was great.
Without the help of the teachers and staff, who are very open and approachable, I doubt I would have had such fond memories. In short, it was a REAL collaboration.”

“I chose this university for several reasons. First of all, I was attracted by the reputation of its French-language faculty and programs in Ontario. What’s more, the UOF offers unique exchange opportunities with universities in other provinces, which I think is great for enriching the spirit and discovering Canada through our studies.”
